Frequently Asked Questions – Kinbaku Studio
What is the Kinbaku Studio KnotCare Program?
Our KnotCare Program offers limited coverage as part of our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
Processed Rope Warranty: We offer a 3-month limited warranty for structural defects not caused by misuse (e.g., cuts, improper storage). If there’s an issue, email us with clear photos, and we’ll provide a one-time replacement at no cost.
⚠️ Please note: This warranty is void if the rope is reprocessed within the first 3 months (light reconditioning for safety is allowed).Other Products: Items such as wax candles, suspension hardware, and accessories are covered by a 30-day limited warranty, whether purchased online, in person, or by special order.
Custom Requests: For special rope processing or requests, please contact us before placing your order so we can accommodate your needs.
How do you treat your processed rope?
Each Kinbaku Studio rope is carefully treated for optimal performance:
Conditioned with natural oils or waxes
Tension-balanced and heat-set (when applicable)
Ends finished with either hand-whipped or knotted closures, based on your selection
Individually inspected for softness, consistency, and visual quality
Our ropes are ready to use right out of the box. If you'd like to treat your own rope, reach out to us at Info@Kinbaku-Studio.com for our rope treatment guide.
How often should I recondition my rope?
It depends on how often you tie. More use leads to faster wear.
Inspect your rope before each use
If it feels dry, stiff, or dull, recondition it with rope oil or wax
Avoid over-conditioning — too much oil can reduce flexibility
Always tie within your personal safety limits, as worn rope can break more easily
With proper care, most ropes will last more than 2 years under regular use.
What is the shipping time for orders?
We aim to ship most orders within 3–5 business days, though large or custom orders—especially those with whipped ends—may take the full processing time to complete.
Standard Shipping: 3–5 business days
Priority Shipping: 1–3 business days
Express Shipping: Available upon request
Local Pickup/Delivery: Available in the Richmond, VA area or at events with prearranged delivery
Wax Products: During warmer months, candles are only shipped Monday–Thursday to prevent melting in transit
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, we offer standard international shipping via USPS. If you need express international service, Contact Us directly to arrange a custom order.
Please note: Import taxes or customs fees may apply. We are not responsible for any additional international fees, but we’re happy to coordinate with our shipping agents to reduce delays or issues where possible.
How do you accept payments for custom orders and event sales?
For custom orders, we create a custom invoice and accept payment via PayPal, Stripe, or Square.
For event sales, we accept all major credit cards, digital payment methods, and cash.
What is your refund or exchange policy?
All sales are final. However, we understand issues can arise and aim to be flexible. In most cases, we offer store credit or product replacement, depending on the situation. Please Contact Us — we handle each request on a case-by-case basis.
